Kayak safety courses 2010
Our 5 hours safety class covers a range of skills to enable you to paddle with greater confidence and know your limits.
Maybe you have just bought a kayak or realise you need practice and training in safety matters. In our short and intensive class we cover the essential safety skills, we all mean to practice, but never quite get around to doing!
Paddle skills are covered in more detail on our level 1 and 2 courses.
Course Content
Capsizing. Self rescue techniques. Assisted rescues. Ways to avoid falling in. Personal safety gear. Safety kit. Using paddle floats. Towing. Float and trip planning.

Private lessons and other dates are possible.

BCU Coastal Navigation And Tidal Planning 2010
A BCU accredited course of a minimum of 8 hours. Ideal to learn trip planning and sea kayak navigation skills to enable you to make the right choices.
A certificate of attendance is awarded. This course (or a similar RYA navigation course) is a pre-requisite for the BCU 4 star sea kayak assessment.
Dates:
Wednesdays 31 March, 7, 14, 21, 28 April, 1830–2100
This course can be run on demand over 9 hours as a one day course. Contact us for possible dates.

Wind, Tides And Currents Course 2010
This course is designed to cover the basics on wind, tides and currents, e.g. how to read tide tables, tidal stream atlas and plan a simple journey.
Dates:
Thursdays 8, 15, 22 and 29 April 2010, 1900–2100
Costs: £70 with all equipment provided
