Our Les Ecrehous tours sometimes give us the chance to meet a few Dolphin and Seals.

Sometimes Dolphin decide to swim with our charter boat.

They choose to approach us.

When this happens you need to slow down and stay on course.

There are around 70 Bottle nose Dolphin resident off the East coast of Jersey.

Les Minquiers

Lying 12 miles south of Jersey, Les Minquers is the most southerly
area of the British Isles. At low tide the area uncovered is almost
as large as Jersey. At high tide only the tiny islet of Maitresse Ile
remains with its fisherman cabins.

Chausey

“The French Channel island”.

Saturday 30 August.

Described as the French Channel Island. Chausey is now a nature
reserve with huge sandbars and wildlife. Travel by charter boat to
Chausey and explore the island.

For anyone who wants to discover sit-on-top kayaking. It is also suitable for anyone who has bought a kayak and wants to improve their skills. All equipment including wetsuits is provided. We will cover rescues, solo paddling and explore our fantastic coastline.

Not for the faint hearted. This was a big challenge for Ritchie, Krista, Manuel and Eddie. 11 hours of kayaking 35 miles around the coast of Jersey.

Conditions were excellent but the light head wind at the end made the last few miles to Bonne Nuit hard going just when we’d have preferred a final gentle paddle ashore.

Eddie has raised over £1000 for the Jersey Foster Carers Association. It gave him that extra incentive to keep paddling when the going at times got tough. You can read the story of last years Round the island on our media page.

The 3 star is part of the British Canoe Union personal performance awards. Thanks to my input will now enable sit-on-top as well as closed cockpit kayaks to gain this award.

The training day will consist of skills required for the 3 star assessment. There is an optional assessment date on 2 August.

This course will give you the opportunity to develop and identify the skills you need for 3 star. It will also enable you to improve your kayak skills.

To pass 3 star assessment you need to demonstrate the ability to skilfully control your kayak in prescribed conditions through blending the body, boat and blade positions.

3 star training. Saturday July 12. 1000-1500
3 star assessment. Saturday August 2. 1000-1500
